How ranking works

Schools never pay for a higher place in the results. There is no paid ranking and no paid badge. The order comes only from the rules on this page.

Searches near a place

When you search near you or near a town, the nearest schools come first.

Searches by name

When you search for a school name, the closest match to the name you typed comes first.

Place and style pages

On a city or style page, schools with more complete and confirmed details come first:

1. Schools that the owner has claimed and keeps up to date.
2. Schools whose details we found in two or more sources, or on the school’s own website.
3. Schools with details from one source only.

Inside each group, schools are in A to Z order.
